It’s Easter weekend and it looks like rain! Must also be time for Tri-State and the carnival! There are lots of events and egg hunts planned but you’ll need to keep an eye on the weather.

Weee Carnival is at Oakwood Mall

BUZZ DEAL: Mention ENID BUZZ when purchasing your wristband and get $3 OFF!

WEEE Entertainment Carnival will be at Oakwood Mall Friday, April 18-Sunday, April 27. Monday-Friday the carnival will be open starting at 6pm, Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 1pm, weather permitting. It will close between 10-11pm each night depending on the crowd.

There will be $33 per wristbands daily. Monday-Friday 6-10pm, Saturday noon-5pm and 5-10pm and Sunday 1-5pm and 5-10pm. Wristbands allow you unlimited rides for the session it’s purchased.

You can also purchase tickets. Single tickets are $4 each, 10 tickets for $35 or 30 tickets for $100. All rides are 1 ticket per person except the Freak Out. It is 2 tickets.

The ticket box and concessions accept cash or card. Games are played with tokens that may be purchased with cash. ATM’s are available.

FREE Community Drive-Thru Shred Event hosted by AARP Oklahoma, Security National Bank of Enid, and the Enid News and Eagle. Paul Allen Memorial

Paul Richard Allen was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on October 26,1935 to Claude and Laura Allen. Paul left us peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 13 at his home in Enid after a four-month battle with cancer.

In 1973, thirty-seven year-old Paul moved his wife and three sons to Enid, Oklahoma, where Paul and Joan began a forty-year journey working with the McLaughlins, and eventually with his sons, to build a business that became one of the most significant employers in Northwest Oklahoma. The company was Advance Foods.

Among his recognitions, Paul has in the past been chosen as Enid’s Business Person of the Year and as Pillar of the Plains Citizen of the Year. He was voted into the Enid Hall of Fame and the Enid Public Schools Hall of Fame. In 2018, Paul was elected to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

The Memorial celebration to honor Paul’s life will be held at Noon on Sunday, May 4 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark with Reverend Dr. John Toles of St. Mathews’ Episcopal Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The family asks that attendees wear whatever ballpark attire makes them comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, Mark and Greg believe that the very best way to honor Paul would be do something for someone that is unusually thoughtful, helpful or simply unexpected, sometime before Paul’s Memorial Celebration on May 4.

Author Fest - Do you love to read? The Enid Public Library will host its annual Enid Author Fest on Saturday, April 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the library, 120 W. Maine. The event is free and open to the public, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to meet and interact with local authors from across Oklahoma. Fish Fry - The Hawley Fire Department Annual Benefit Fish Fry is Saturday, April 19. Food is served from 4:30pm to 7:00pm.
