Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

Each year the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission plans and organizes a comprehensive tribute that promotes diversity, equality, and education consistent with Dr. King's dream, work, and legacy. This year is the 60th anniversary of the march on Washington.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission announces the following celebratory events:

• Prayer Breakfast - Saturday, January 6 from 8am to 10am at the Central Assembly of God, Family Center, 1202 Oxford Ave.

• Commemorative March - Monday, January 15 at 1:30pm starting at the Stride Bank Center, 301 S. Independence.

• Celebration Program - Monday, January 15 at 2pm at the Stride Bank Center Grand Ballroom, 301 S. Independence.

Christmas Tree Pickup

Have a fresh-cut Christmas tree and like to discard it? You can do so, by calling Solid Waste at 580-616-7300 to schedule a FREE pickup from January 2-19, 2024. (You must have an active utility account with the City of Enid water department.)

Night To Unite Looking For Sponsors

Can you help sponsor a inspiring event that warms the hearts of a special group of people in Enid? On February 2, 2024, Enid will be celebrating the 5th annual prom for individuals with special needs. Formerly known as "Night to Shine" founded by the Tim Tebow foundation, our "Night to Unite" will once again feature dancing, karaoke, food and goodie bags for our kings and queens. Groendyke Transport has made several changes to its senior leadership, including naming Joe Morrissey president. Greg Hodgen will remain CEO while transitioning presidency of Groendyke Transport.

Ice Skating - Last day to skate is January 7, 2024 (weather permitting).

The One - Closing Ceremony on January 6th at 6:30pm at the Christmas tree downtown. This short ceremony will be the finale of this year's event. The last time the Christ Tree will play will be at 6pm that evening.

Tonight is the last night to enjoy the OG+E Tree of Lights Show on the Courthouse Lawn! Watch from 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM by tuning to 95.1.

4RKids invites you to Free Movie Night! The movie is Elemental. This is a sensory friendly event. Wear your PJ's of flannels. Free entry. Central Christian Church from 6-8pm. 1111 W. Broadway.
