Wow! This has been the wettest and coolest summer that I can remember. Not that I mind a few cooler days but where did my summer go?
Football season is here! All of the area high schools will be kicking off very soon and our state universities begin games this week! Enjoy your favorite team!
I will be posting lots of info on the Garfield County Fair and Carnival. Coulten Cue has plans to make this year bigger and better than it has been in many years. Everything will depend on your support! Get out and see the Fair entries, watch the horse show, ride the carnival rides and eat some carnival and fair food!

WHAT'S HOT THIS WEEK

Garfield County Fair & Carnival Sept. 11-14
The Garfield County Fair is September 11-14, 2025 at 111 W. Purdue. Join family and friends for a great time at the Garfield County Fair and Carnival. View agricultural exhibits and livestock shows. Sample delicious fair foods and enjoy many on-site vendors. Entry to the fair is free.
Enjoy the Ice Cream Crank-Off, Live Stock, Fair Entries, Fair Seminars, Vendor Booths, Quilt Show and More! Take the entire family and grab a funnel cake, fried Oreo, Turkey leg, walking taco and more!
The Garfield County Fair gates are open Thursday thru Saturday 9am-8pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm. All fair entries are due by September 3rd.
The CARNIVAL is back this year and will operate September 10th-14th at the Expo Center. Stop by the Expo office to purchase carnival passes for $5 off (sale ends September 9th). For questions contact the office at 580-237-0238.
The Fun Time Shows Carnival hours are Wednesday & Thursday 5pm-10pm, Friday 5pm-10:30pm, Saturday split sessions 12pm-5pm and 6pm-11pm, Sunday 1pm-6pm.

N. Cleveland Closing Extended Again
The current road closure of North Cleveland Street from Hunters Hill Drive to West Willow Road has been extended to provide additional time for contractors to complete asphalt paving. The new time extension will run from Sunday, August 31st through Friday September 26th.

YMCA Expanding to the Northgate Center
The United Way of Enid gave a $100,000 grant to the Denny Price YMCA to assist with startup costs for the YMCA’s new Winter Wellness Center on Willow in the Northgate Center. In addition to the fitness space, the renovation will also include a new RSVP Senior Center.

United Way Chili Cook Off
Attend the 38th Annual United Way Chili Cook-Off on Friday, October 24 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Stride Bank Center!
Calling all Northwest Oklahoma organizations: Businesses, nonprofits, clubs, community groups... you’re all invited to bring the heat at in Enid, OK. This year’s theme is HALLOWEEN, sponsored by Cintas — so don’t forget your costumes and spooky spirit
• Judging begins at 10 AM

• AUGUST 30
Rowdy Stickhorse Squash Blossom Festival. Cucs & Zuks Indi 500: Each participant receives a wheel and axle kit, then choose a cucumber, yellow squash or zucchini and head to the Garage area to assemble their car. Once completed, they head to the Pit area for judging. After judging you're off to the track. (Participants aged 15 and below)
• AUGUST 30
The City of Enid Parks and Recreation department will host a free event, Movie on Park on Saturday, August 30th 8:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. in the Park Street Events Area at 150 W Park. Come enjoy “A MINECRAFT MOVIE” with some free popcorn and water! Don’t forget your camping chair or blanket for the best outdoor movie experience. Weather permitting.
