WHAT'S HOT THIS WEEK

City of Enid Holiday Schedule

In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the City of Enid Administration offices, Enid Animal Welfare, Enid Public Library, and Recycle Center will be closed on Monday, January 19.

Additionally, the Enid Public Transportation Authority (EPTA) will not be operating on Monday, January 19.

The landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, January 19.

Meadowlake Golf Course will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 19.

NOTE: All trash routes will remain the same for the holiday. There will be no changes to trash schedules.

Enid High Students Build An Airplane

The Tango Flight Aviation class at EHS has completed their plane build! After two and half years of hard work, dedication, and teamwork, the students are seeing fruits of their labor. The students finished the assembly at Woodring Airport. After undergoing an inspection by the FAA the plane is now able to fly.

Enid High Hires New Football Coach

Enid Public Schools announced Chris Elerick as the new head football coach at Enid High School. He will also serve as the Assistant Athletic Director. His duties will begin February 2.

Elerick began his football coaching career in 1997 at Yale Public Schools where he stayed until he was hired at Stroud Public Schools in 2005, where he spent 15 years as the head football coach building a successful program. He then took a position as the head coach at Drumright Public Schools where he has been since 2023. He also served as the Athletic Director for Drumright, leading the coaching staff as well as overseeing athletic facilities for the district.

His overall career record as a head football coach is 216-88.

The Frisco Bar Gets A Fresh Start

The Frisco Bar has been part of Enid’s nightlife since 1948. After expanding into the building next door, The Frisco has completed a full remodel, refreshing the look and feel inside while keeping the same spirit that’s made it a familiar meet-up spot for decades.

The Frisco is now a full liquor bar and is non-smoking! They've added more room, darts, specials and furniture on the patio. The popular bar is located near downtown at 608 N Independence.

The 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is Monday, January 19! These are the important times and activities.

Xtreme Bull Riding & Concert

Tickets are on sale now for Ultimate Challenge Productions Xtreme Bull Riding at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at 7:00pm.

The Great Divide in concert following the Bull Ride.
