With kids wrapping up the school year and plenty of local events on the calendar, Enid is quickly shifting into full summer mode. Here’s what’s happening around town this week!

Twister Museum Anniversary Celebration

2026 Enid High Graduation
Congratulations to the Class of 2026! The commencement ceremony for Enid High School’s Class of 2026 will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m.
Jaden Baez, class president, will give the welcome. Graduation speakers include Dylan Bixler, salutatory address; Emma Sullivan, senior speaker; and Lawton Avants, valedictory address. The ceremony will then commence with 42 students being honored with valedictorian commendations and diplomas presented to all graduates. Additionally, EHS will celebrate 92 honor graduates that evening. The school will be graduating a total of 509 seniors.
Five students will also be graduating with an associate’s degree from Northern Oklahoma College: Paisley Amsler, Lyla Brown, Addan Herrera, Kenna Kain, and Macee Ylitalo.
Enid Public Schools appreciates the support of community members, parents and fellow students as we honor the Class of 2026. We ask that those attending please not bring air horns or other items of distraction during this special event. In addition, please stay off of the floor where graduates sit until the ceremony is concluded. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Landfill Closed Saturday
Due to ongoing storm recovery operations within our own facilities and staffing impacts, the landfill will be CLOSED on Saturday, May 16.
There will be no residential or commercial dumping accepted nor will drop offs be permitted. Signs have been put in place to inform the public of the upcoming closing.
We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience as the City of Enid focuses on restoring and stabilizing damage sustained at the landfill.

The Austin Box “12” Prescription Drug Awareness Day is Saturday, May16 from 11am to 1pm at Evans Drug Center. Drive-thru and drop off unwanted medications. Also stay for the other activities.
• MAY 16
Join pilots from surrounding airports as they fly-in and have breakfast on Saturday, May 16. The public is invited to watch them come in and land, have breakfast and watch them take-off. Stop by and check out the airport terminal and Barnstormers restaurant! Fly-ins and all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet takes place from 7:30am to 10:00am. $10.99 for breakfast ($5.99 for kids 12 and under).
• MAY 16
Enid Gem and Mineral Society’s Annual Rock Swap is a wonderful way to spend a nice outdoor day with other rock hounds. You can buy, sell or trade. It’s a great way to add to your stash or buy items you’ve been searching for. Go shop and swap for a large variety of lapidary items including gemstones, minerals, fossils, rough, slabs, cabs, beads, jewelry and more. For the kids, there’s a Spin & Win game and a “Touch & Feel” table. Saturday, May 16 from 10am to 4pm. 214 W. Randolph.

• MAY 17
Enid Animal Welfare and Dr. Olson will host the Annual Rabies Shot Clinic on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Take your pets to the Stride Bank Center, northwest side of the building near the Boomer statue. $15 for rabies vaccination and City tag, $2 for City tag only with proof of current rabies vaccination. CASH ONLY. This clinic is open to residents of the City of Enid and surrounding areas. For everyone’s safety: Dogs must be on a leash and Cats must be in a carrier.
