The Garfield County jail tax failed by a vote of 2,378-770 against. Over 75% of voters were not in favor of the new tax.

Concert Buzz
Little Big Town Coming Back To Enid
GRAMMY, ACM, CMA, AMA and Emmy Award-winning group Little Big Town are returning to Enid, Oklahoma on May 18 at the Stride Bank Center. They were last in Enid in March of 2015. Buy tickets at StrideBankCenter.com.
Keep The Kids Cool This Summer
The Enid Splash Pads are open for the 2023 Season. The Hoover Splash Pad is located at 3000 W. Oklahoma, and the Champion Splash Pad is located at 700 N. 10th St. The splash pad hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
Champlin Pool will be open May 30 - July 29, Tuesday thru Saturday from 12-6pm.
Enid High Graduation
The commencement ceremony for Enid High School’s Class of 2023 will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 19 at D. Bruce Selby Stadium.
Saherena Williams-Clardy, class president, will give the welcome. Graduation speakers include Beau Brian Lamoreaux, salutatory address; Alaina Marie Nelson, senior speaker; and Elsa Johnson Stewart, valedictory address. The ceremony will then commence with 46 students being honored with valedictorian commendations and diplomas presented to all graduates.
In the event of inclement weather, the following dates and times are reserved as alternative times for the ceremony:
• Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at D. Bruce Selby Stadium
• Saturday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Chisholm Trail Expo Center
The district will communicate with families and the community at least two and half hours in advance of the designated start time, in any changes are necessary.
General Parking will be available in the south parking lot of the stadium as well as newly paved parking on the west side of the stadium. The EHS parking lots, located on the school campus, also will be open. Those who use the south stadium parking lot are asked to enter the south gates and follow the east sidewalk to the north-side seating. Limited handicap parking will be located on the north side of the stadium. Once the spaces are full, vehicles with passengers who require handicap parking will be allowed to drive to the entrance of the stadium to drop-off passengers.
For the safety of those in attendance, Iowa Street will be closed to regular traffic near the stadium.
Guests are welcome to sit on both the north and south sides of the stadium.
Enid Public Schools appreciates the support of community members, parents and fellow students as we honor the Class of 2023. We ask that those attending please not bring air horns or other items of distraction during this special event. Your cooperation is appreciated.
High Speed Internet
Bluepeak has completed construction to 1,200 more homes on the north and west sides of Enid! Specifically, the section of town north of Garriott Road between Cleveland Street and the edge of town and the section north of Chestnut Avenue between Cleveland Street and Washington Street. This progress is a key benchmark toward their goal of building #FiberInternet to 23,000 homes and businesses throughout Enid.
